I have a hp deskjet 5700 printer. It worked fine untill my computer crashed and i had the harddrive 'wiped'. Now the driver is missing. I cannot find a driver after going thru all the support options and steps, etc on the hp website.

How can I download a driver for this printer? The printer is out of warranty, but is not on the list pf products no longer supported by hp.

I've gone thru hp.com/go/tools.ran hp print and scan doctor.ran hp support solutions framework.with no luck on arriving at a page where a driver download is available. Help, please. So an update could not be found. I may have the driver for this printer on an old computer. Is it possible to copy the driver from the download folder of the old computer, paste it onto a thumbdrive, and then install it on my other computer? Guess I'll try. Or.the Add Printer utility does list a deskjet 5500 series. If I can locate an update for that driver, do you think it might work for the 5700?

I tried once more plugging in the USB cable. Windows searched for over an hour for a driver.finally said there was no driver available for 5700. The same results come up when I go thru all the utillities on the hp website. When my laptop (running Win7-64bit) crashed, I had my IT person 'wipe'the drive and re-install Win7 from her own disk. This may have caused the problem, but I don't understand how.

Also when i just ran Win Update and seached for recent updates of any kind, there were no results. It is odd that 5700 appears on you Win10 machine, and that before my wipe, it was on my machine. Any more suggestions?
