So I was able to resolve my problem. While HP does't officially support the G6 or prior servers on 2012, I was able to install the ILO2 driver manually (HP Driver cp013803.exe). Instead of launching the HP executable directly, which gave me an error message saying that the OS wasn't supported, I unzipped the executable first and installed the driver via the Device manager. It installed successfully and all the problems above are resolved (with the exception of #3, but i learned that the System Management Homepage has the same functionally when installed on 2008R2 so I don't believe this one was an issue to start off.).
