I have also not been able to make the disaster recovery or my Norton Ghost work (other than from the restore disk you either purchase or get free from HP) which made me look into loading my own operating system on it. I know the problem is the sata hard drive and I can't believe they designed it to be so restrictive. There is a setting in my Toshiba that I change which makes the drive compatible.
